The difference between liquid silicone rubber and solid silicone rubber
Solid silicone rubber, refers to the vulcanized silicone rubber products and silicone rubber compounds are solid. This kind of silicone rubber is also called HTV. No matter what kind of vulcanizing agent is used, it needs to be vulcanized at high temperature to get perfect physical properties. After vulcanization of solid silicone rubber, various silicone rubber products can be made, generally with good physical properties. There are many kinds of liquid silicone rubber, and its uncured original silicone material is liquid. Due to the fluidity of the liquid, the liquid silicone rubber is easier to form and can be easily made into a mold, which can be used to duplicate products. This is impossible for the solid silicone rubber. Liquid silicone rubber can also be made into adhesive, used to bond various materials. Most liquid silicone rubber can be vulcanized at room temperature, also known as room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV). According to reaction types, liquid silicone rubber can be divided into condensation type and addition type. The condensed silicone rubber can not reach the food standard, while the addition silicone rubber can reach the food standard, and has excellent physical properties, so it is widely used.
